  • Zane Carmean is the director of quantitative research at PitchBook, where he conducts data analysis, creates financial models, and authors research reports and thematic analyst notes covering private markets. He helped build PitchBook’s proprietary private fund benchmarks, Manager Scoring methodologies to analyze GP track records, as well as cash flow forecasting tools to assist allocators in estimating future cash flow and commitment pacing needs. Carmean leads a team of analysts supporting the creation of new tools, research, and analytics for clients to leverage PitchBook data sets. Prior to PitchBook, he was a senior associate at Green Street Advisors, where he conducted the research and analytics behind many of the firm’s strategic research reports in the commercial real estate industry.

    Carmean received bachelor’s degrees in finance and economics from Loyola University Chicago, and a master’s degree in finance from Bocconi University in Milan. He is also a CFA and CAIA charterholder. He is based in PitchBook’s Seattle office.
  • Hilary Wiek, CFA, CAIA, is a principal analyst at PitchBook, where she covers PitchBook’s fund strategies and performance, publishing primary research on the alternatives space and contributing to core report development. Wiek also covers ESG and impact investing. She has over 20 years of experience in asset owner, manager, and advisory roles. Prior to joining PitchBook, Wiek was the director of investments at the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundations, where she handled portfolio management, impact/ESG, investment diligence, and monitoring and investment operations. Before that, she held senior positions at Segal Rogerscasey, the South Carolina Retirement Systems Investment Commission, Buckingham Financial Group, Dayton Power & Light, and KeyCorp.

    Wiek received a master’s degree in finance and economics from Case Western Reserve University and a bachelor’s degree in business leadership and finance from the University of Puget Sound. She is based in PitchBook’s Seattle office.
  • Brian Hoehn is Director of Industry Affairs at the Institutional Limited Partners Association. Brian assists the Industry Affairs team in engagement with external industry stakeholders, advocacy efforts, as well as efforts to establish and promote industry best practices.

    Brian holds a bachelor of arts in international affairs with a minor in business administration from the George Washington University.
