Head of Quantitative Research at PitchBook

Daniel Cook is the head of quantitative research at PitchBook and leads the firm’s data analysis function in both the US and EMEA regions. Cook launched the firm’s quantitative research and IP development efforts, leading to projects such as PitchBook’s Investor Style framework and fund cash flow models. He also oversees the production of all data sets leveraged in PitchBook’s asset class and emerging technology research.

Prior to this role, Cook worked on PitchBook’s secondary research team. He received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Santa Clara University and is a CFA charter holder. He is based in PitchBook’s Seattle office.

Lead Research Analyst, Venture Capital at PitchBook

Kyle Stanford is a lead venture capital research analyst at PitchBook, where he oversees a team of analysts covering the US venture market. He covers nontraditional VC investment and venture ecosystem development. He also contributes to quarterly core reports and produces thematic analyst notes on various topics. Prior to this role, he worked on PitchBook’s publishing team, building and designing custom reports across all asset classes while also supporting the analyst team’s core report development.

Stanford received a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Washington. He is based in PitchBook’s Seattle office.
 

Andrew Akers headshot Andrew Akers, CFA
Senior Quantitative Research Analyst at PitchBook

Andrew Akers is a quantitative research analyst at PitchBook, where he contributes to data-driven research focusing on private equity, asset allocation and the broader financial markets. He also develops tools for the PitchBook Platform, including PitchBook’s Investor Style framework. Akers has published in-depth research on private equity fund returns, their impact on an investor’s portfolio, and the artificial smoothing of reported returns.

Prior to PitchBook, Akers was a research analyst and portfolio manager at Verus Advisory, an institutional investment consultant, where he helped inform the firm’s asset allocation decisions and manage its discretionary portfolios. A CFA charter holder, Akers received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Washington State University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in analytics from Georgia Tech University. He is based in PitchBook’s Seattle office.
 

McKinley McGinn headshot McKinley McGinn
Product Manager, Market Intelligence at PitchBook  

McKinley McGinn is a product manager at PitchBook, where he works with customers to learn about their day-to-day processes and how the platform can facilitate them. This research then informs collaborative efforts with design and engineering to create new product features and education for departments like sales, customer success and marketing.

Prior to PitchBook, McGinn worked as a financial analyst intern at Kaspien. He received his bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from Gonzaga University. He is based in PitchBook’s Seattle office.
