About Virgin Hyperloop One
Taking inspiration from Elon Musk—who published a white paper detailing his vision for a train-like vehicle that travels at high speeds through low-pressure tubes—Virgin Hyperloop One created XP-1, the company’s first stab at a hyperloop vehicle. During a trial run on December 18, the prototype hit its fastest speed yet: 240 mph.
