Help: How to change your PitchBook password

Losing access to your account because of a forgotten or outdated password can bring your work to a stop. Resetting it takes just a few steps, so you can get back to your research quickly and keep your account secure. This article walks you through the two ways to reset your password, from within the PitchBook Platform or from the login screen, along with the password requirements.

Passwords for the PitchBook Platform must be at least eight characters long. They must also contain at least three out of the following four specifications:

1. Lowercase letters (a-z)
2. Uppercase letters (A-Z)
3. Numbers (0-9)
4. Special characters (for example, !@#$%^&*)

There are two ways to reset your password:

• From the platform
• From the login screen

Note: If you use single sign-on (SSO), you can’t reset your password. Please get in touch with your system administrator or account manager for assistance. To learn more about SSO, visit our article on Getting started with single sign-on (SSO).

To change your password once logged in to the PitchBook Platform, follow these steps:

1. Click your name in the top-right corner of the page and select Account Settings from the drop-down menu.
2. On the My Account page, under the General tab, click Change Password.
3. In the pop-up window, confirm that you want to disable your current password and create a new one by selecting Continue.
4. Enter and confirm your new password on the next screen, then click Reset password to finalize the change.
   

If you forget your password and are unable to log in to the PitchBook Platform, you can change your password directly from the login screen by following these steps:

1. On the PitchBook Platform login screen, select Forgot password?
2. Enter your email address and click Continue. A reset link will be sent to your email.

3. Open the email titled “Reset your password” from Morningstar, Inc., and click the Reset Password button.
   

4. On the next screen, enter and confirm your new password, then click Reset password to complete the process.
