Help: Changing your PitchBook password

You can easily reset your password from the platform or PitchBook’s login screen. In this article, we’ll walk you through how to get back to the data you need.

There are two ways to reset your password:

• Change your password while logged into the PitchBook Platform.
• Request a password reset from the login screen.

Note: Single-Sign-On (SSO) users are not able to reset their passwords. Please get in touch with your system administrator or account manager for assistance. To learn more about SSO, visit our article on Getting started with single sign-on (SSO).

Passwords for the PitchBook Platform must include:

• At least 8 characters
• At least 3 of the following
  
  • Lower case letters (a-z)
  • Upper case letters (A-Z)
  • Numbers (0-9)
  • Special characters (e.g. !@#$%^&*)

To change your password once you’ve already logged in, follow these steps.

1. Click your name in the top right corner of PitchBook and from the drop-down menu, select Account Settings.
2. You’ll land on the General tab of your My Account page. Below your photo and other account details on the right side, select Change Password.
3. A pop-up window will appear confirming that you’d like to disable your current password and create a new one. Select Continue to proceed.
4. You’ll be brought to a new screen to enter a new password. Once you have confirmed your new password, click Reset password.

If you forget your password and can’t log in to PitchBook, you can change it directly from the login screen by following these steps.

1. First, click Forgot password? towards the bottom of the page.
2. Next, enter your email address and click Continue to generate a reset link to your email.

3. Check your email address for a “Reset your password” email from Morningstar, Inc, and click Reset Password in the email.

4. You’ll be brought to a new screen to enter a new password. Once you have confirmed your new password, click Reset password.
