2016 Year in Review: 5 cool features added to the PitchBook Platform
December 28, 2016
We’re always looking for better ways to serve our customers, and in 2016, we continued to hone our obsessive focus on data and invest in new workflow and discovery tools to provide an enjoyable PitchBook Platform experience.
Workflow: We’re making it easier to access our data wherever and however you need it. This year, we created new ways for you to efficiently access our data and integrate it into what you do, from a faster mobile experience to an Excel plugin for private companies to our API.
Discovery: We’re building technology to help you quickly cut through the noise and find actionable insights. To surface the information that matters most and help you work more efficiently, we developed Smart News and Similar Companies & Competitors.
“Do you have an API?” We’re so excited to finally say yes! Our customers asked to access to our data directly to integrate it into their workflows. We’ve built API and Datafeed products so our clients can do what they asked for: bring the PitchBook data they need directly into the internal systems and databases they use every day.
We work with busy investment and sales professionals that always need to be in the know. Whether it’s the company you’re watching to invest in or sell your product to, tracking market activity in the news is cumbersome. To alleviate this, our Smart News feature uses a recommendation algorithm to curate stories about the companies that matter most to you from the industry’s go-to sources, so you can stay ahead of the curve. No setup required.
Analysts asked. We answered. With our enhanced Excel plugin, you can now pull our private company data straight into your spreadsheets to analyze everything from employee counts to pre- and post-money valuations. Keep an eye out for even more data points coming soon.
“Can you help me find better comps?” We used natural language processing and other secret sauce to build better comps for you. Our Similar Companies & Competitors feature helps our users zero in on similar companies, build better comps for pricing and analyzing deals, and understand an industry’s competitive landscape.
