PitchBook is 10! As our company closes out its first decade, I’d like to take a moment to celebrate and thank our team and our customers.
Ten years ago, PitchBook was founded on the idea that discerning private market professionals deserved world-class data and research. Although we didn’t know it at the time, we were on the verge of the Great Recession. Starting up in that uncertain environment was difficult, but over the last decade—through grit, persistence and a focus on customer needs—PitchBook has reached many of its initial goals (and is still a work in progress). Remember, it’s about potentiality.
From packing seven original employees into a 200-square-foot office to hiring 600 employees across teams in Seattle, New York, London, Ukraine and India, we’ve had a blast while creating the industry’s most accurate, comprehensive private market database. Since the PitchBook Platform launched, we’ve won seven CODiE awards, been voted a best place to work and served over 10,000 clients. We’ve also become the go-to source for industry news and analysis, with The Daily Pitch reaching over a half million subscribers and our detailed reports covering every aspect of the private markets.
PitchBook has always aimed to deliver an exceptional product while putting customers first. That mission continues to drive our success. As we turn 10 and embark on our next chapter, I couldn’t be more proud of what our team has built or more excited about where we’re headed.
