Top investors get all the glory. But what about the top partnerships?
Using our new venture Co-Investors feature in the PitchBook Platform, we took the most active VC firms in Europe this year and found their most common investing cohort. The dynamics of the pairings changed from group to group, with some couples coming together through shared round preferences, while others focused more on company location.
Without further ado, here are three of the top partnerships involving Europe’s most active VCs (co-investments since the start of 2006):
1. High-Tech Gründerfonds and Bayern Kapital, 55 companies
Key stats: 77 total rounds, €1.15 million median round amount
Last co-investment: FAZUA, April 30 (Series A)
2. Index Ventures and SV Angel, 23 companies
Key stats: 27 total rounds, €3.77 million median round amount, €25.6 million median post val
Last co-investment: The Campus Job, May 6 (Series A)
3. Kima Ventures and 500 Startups, 19 companies
Key stats: 19 total rounds, €923K median round amount, €5.64 million median post val
Last co-investment: Mitoo, May 22 ($1.5 million seed)
