Data security leads blockbuster Q4 for infosec 

The latest investment data for information security startups suggests that VC investors are concentrating larger amounts of capital into late-stage companies, with $3.5 billion invested in the sector in Q4 2024—an increase of 44.4% from Q3—but deal count falling by 11%, according to our latest Emerging Tech Research report.  

The data security segment continues to stand out within the sector, with $1.7 billion of the $3.5 billion invested in Q4 2024 attributable to data security deals—far more than any other segment. Rising enterprise security threats and trends of increased regulatory compliance will likely continue to put data security at the forefront of VC investment.
