We launched the new PitchBook experience last summer, unveiling a fresh UI and more intuitive searching. This coincided with a back-end re-architecture to deliver speed at scale to our clients.
Now, we’re continuing to scale to meet client needs with new search architecture, which will result in noticeable speed improvements for users running advanced searches in PitchBook—a key workflow to generate comps, perform market analysis, and understand trends. This new search engine architecture also enables us to build powerful new analytical tools in PitchBook. Stay tuned for more feature innovation to come that will help you analyze emerging spaces and discover new opportunities.
On the front end, we’ve added a number of different components as well as UI changes to help you save time and customize your PitchBook experience. Read on for more details:
See live counts in advanced search
You can now see exactly how many results your criteria (industry, location, financials, etc.) will generate before running an advanced search. This transparency will help you anticipate whether you’ll need to narrow down or expand your search parameters.
Save custom analytics layouts
Similar to the savable custom layouts across your search results tabs, you can now create and save custom layouts in search Analytics, our built in pivot table. We made this change so you don’t have to keep resetting the various values available for your preferred view.
Apply tab filters to charts and analytics
Need to add a filter for a data point like deal size? The filters you add in the companies, deals or investors search results tabs now carry over to analytics and charts where you can easily run further analysis.
Sort multiple columns in search results
Save time with the ability to sort multiple columns at a time directly within your search results—enabling you to run even deeper analysis in PitchBook.
Improve your saved search and list workflow
More easily find, create and manage saved searches and lists with additional fields. Search by name within your saved searches and lists, plus see when you originally created your search, the last time you ran your search and the last time you shared your search with a colleague.
