Description
Kazakhstan's Samruk-Kazna (Samruk-Kazyna) is a sovereign wealth fund based in Astana, Kazakhstan. Established in 2008, the fund was created from the merger of two state-owned enterprises, management of state assets SAMRUK and KAZYNA sustainable development fund. It is established to increase the competitiveness and sustainability of the national economy and to prevent a potential negative impact of world market changes on the country's economic growth. The key objective of the fund is to develop and ensure the implementation of regional, national, and international investment projects; support and modernize existing assets of the Samruk-Kazyna group of companies; support regional development and implementation of social projects; and support national producers. The assets of the fund are managed by the executive management team.
