The next decade of investing is almost here.

But, before we close out 2019, PitchBook is attending four conferences across Europe: BVCA Summit, NOAH London, Web Summit and SuperInvestor.

These events are bringing together investors and companies from around the world and putting innovation on the main stage. We are excited to be hearing from some of the brightest minds in the industry—as well as have PitchBook leaders share their expertise.

If you are attending any of these events, come say hello. We would love to meet you!

BVCA Summit

London | 9-10 October
Every year the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association hosts the BVCA Summit to discuss emerging sectors, new strategies and the latest market trends. This event brings more than 850 investors, business leaders and policy-makers to London.

PitchBook will also have a booth where you can learn more about our data, tour our platform and talk to our analysts.

There will be plenty of events to attend over the course of the conference, but these are the two we are looking forward to most:

Latest trends in fundraising and the role of data

10 October | 8:00
As competition for capital increases and investors demand “more” information, the role of data in fundraising is changing. Discuss the need for access to financial, ESG, benchmark and past performance data for DDQs and pitch books.

Drinks reception

10 October | 17:50
Right after closing remarks, we invite everyone to gather for the drinks reception, which will be sponsored by PitchBook.

NOAH London

London | 30-31 October
Europe’s leading digital growth investment conference is getting even bigger this year. NOAH has evolved beyond digital to become an all-round growth conference with a program covering key verticals, including fintech, mobility, edtech and consumer products.

We are honored to be a part of the event alongside hundreds of Europe’s top tech CEOs, startups and investors. Stop by our booth if you are there!

Plus, if you have time, we recommend these two events:

Digital health

30 October | 16:05 | Main Stage
The digital health program will dive into the healthtech vertical with a quick fireside chat and company presentations from Zava, Lumen and Zebra Medical Vision.

Want to learn more before attending? We recently published our 2Q 2019 Healthtech Report, which spotlights the sector and includes commentary from our analysts.

Keynote address: OurCrowd

31 October | 9:15 | Main Stage
This keynote address will be delivered by Jonathan Medved, Founder and CEO of OurCrowd, the world’s largest equity crowdfunding platform for accredited investors. Since its founding in 2013, the Jerusalem-based company has raised $1.2B for 250 portfolio companies.

Web Summit

Lisbon | 4-7 November
There is a reason Web Summit is considered the largest tech event in the world—this year the conference will bring together more than 70,000 attendees from over 170 countries to the heart of Lisbon.

And for 2019, PitchBook is taking part in a big way. We are excited to be sponsoring the Investor Lounge, where dealmakers from around the world can meet and network.

Throughout the summit, the lounge will provide a workspace, help foster connections and offer ways to unwind. A sneak peek of what to look forward to:

  • A coffee bar to keep you energized
  • Moleskine notebooks and Away luggage tags personalized however you like
  • A Giphy photo booth to capture fun moments throughout the conference

In addition to the Investor Lounge, we will also be participating in other events:

Opening remarks – Global venture overview

5 November | 13:30 | Venture stage
Nizar Tarhuni, PitchBook’s Director of Research & Analysis, will be giving the opening keynote for the global venture overview.

The state of global seed panel discussion

5 November | 13:45 | Venture stage
Following opening remarks, Nizar Tarhuni will be moderating this panel as it discusses how the shift toward late-stage investments has created a challenging landscape for early-stage startups seeking funding.

PITCH startup competition semi finals

6 November | 17:00 | Centre stage
PITCH is the startup competition at Web Summit that brings together the world’s leading early-stage startups for a live on-stage battle. And Brett Kaluza, PitchBook’s VP of EMEA and Customer Success, will be one of the judges. The winner will be announced 7 November at 12:30 on the Centre stage.

Is IPO the ultimate sign of success?

7 November | 12:25 | Venture stage
Nizar Tarhuni will be moderating this panel as it discusses the impacts of companies staying private longer. Private equity exits used to be both stigmatised and inaccessible for most startups. No longer. They are now becoming a go-to strategy, accounting for almost one-fifth of VC exits. Will this last or should IPOs be the ultimate goal for founders and investors?

SuperInvestor

Amsterdam | 19-22 November
The four-day SuperInvestor conference is the world’s largest global private equity event focused on LP/GP relations. With more than 400 LPs in attendance this year, the conference will tackle topics such as fundraising, secondaries, co-investments, spinouts, disintermediation and venture capital.

What we are looking forward to most:

LP asset allocation panel discussion

20 November | 9:50
This panel discussion will aim to answer questions such as:

  • How are LPs adjusting their portfolios given where we are in the cycle and what strategies are being adopted to protect returns?
  • Is now the time to reserve capital?

LP asset allocation has become an increasingly important topic as the private markets have proliferated over the last 10 years. Recently, PitchBook asked 101 institutional investors and public equity investment managers how they are responding to private market growth—see their answers in Private Markets: A Decade of Growth.

Dinner with DealCloud

20 November | 19:30 | Tobacco Theater
We are co-hosting a cocktail reception with DealCloud in the heart of Amsterdam. Guests can listen to live entertainment and network with LPs and GPs while enjoying bites from renowned chef and restaurateur Dennis Huwaë. Having worked in two Michelin-star kitchens across the Netherlands, Huwaë has a clear passion for high quality food and co-opened his own restaurant, Daalder, in 2016.
