TriTech Software Systems and Superion have agreed to join forces with the public sector and healthcare business of Aptean to create a combined provider of software for first responders, law enforcement and other government clients. Bain Capital has backed TriTech since May, while Vista Equity Partners bought Superion for $850 million in 2017 and has backed Aptean since 2012. Vista reportedly sought to sell Aptean for more than $1 billion two years ago. Bain Capital and Vista will be co-owners of the new business.
