BMC Software, a provider of business IT software, has agreed to acquire Compuware, a provider of mainframe application software for IT teams, from Thoma Bravo, which took the Detroit-based company private for roughly $2.4 billion in 2014. KKR acquired BMC from Bain Capital and Golden Gate Capital in a 2018 deal valued at a reported $8.5 billion, including debt.
