Romotive Lands $5M in Series A to Produce Robotic iPhone

If you’ve ever felt that your smartphone was one step away from becoming a full-blown robot, you were correct. Romotive, a startup robotics developer, has raised $5 million in Series A funding to create a smartphone-operated robot that cruises around on wheels, makes noises, growls, giggles and makes facial expressions. Financing for this futuristic endeavor comes from lead investor Sequoia Capital, with Crunchfund and SV Angel also participating alongside angel investors including Aydin Senkut of Felicis Ventures.
