Syngenta shareholders back $43B ChemChina takeover

ChemChina has won enough backing to seal its $43 billion acquisition of Syngenta (VTX: SYNN). The deal received support from 80.7% of Syngenta shareholders, surpassing the 67% minimum required. The two companies announced the offer in February 2016; Syngenta's shares will be delisted from the SIX and the NYSE as soon as permitted by law and applicable regulations.
