One of the themes we saw in 2015 was the continued rise of corporate venture capital investors. Although CVC firms have been investing for some time, they've represented an increasing amount of activity in the industry as of late. This past year, 196 corporate VCs participated in venture deals that pumped $27.4 billion into startups worldwide, a total all the more impressive when compared to the same data point from 2012 of just $8.9 billion. Of the capital invested in 2015 rounds with CVC participation, IT companies saw the largest portion with 46.2%, followed by B2C at 21%.
