In 2018, it spun off its U.S. operations as Altice USA. In 2017 it bought in the remaining stake of SFR in France. SFR is the second-largest wireless telecom firm in the country. It also owns Numericable the largest cable TV operator in the country, which provides it with the fibre network that passes the most premises. It is also the third-largest provider of broadband services. In Portugal, it bought the incumbent telecom operator, Portugal Telecom. PT passes the most premises in the country with fibre and is also the largest wireless telecom operator and broadband provider.
