Provider of diversified closed-end management investment services. The company owns and operates two funds including Liberty All-Star Equity Fund and Liberty All-Star Growth Fund. Liberty All-Star Equity Fund seeks total investment return consisting of long-term capital appreciation and current income through investing primarily in a diversified portfolio of equity securities. It includes a diversified portfolio of growth and value stocks and invests at least 80% of its net assets in a diversified portfolio of equity securities. Liberty All-Star Equity Fund has its value managers including Pzena Investment Management, Schneider Capital Management Corporation and Matrix Asset Advisors. Its growth managers are Chase Investment Counsel Corporation and TCW Investment Management Company. Liberty All-Star Equity Fund invests in various sectors, including financial, information technology, consumer discretionary, healthcare, industrials, energy, consumer staples, utilities, telecommunication services and materials. Another fund, Liberty All-Star Growth Fund, is a multi-managed fund focused on small, mid and large-capitalization growth stocks. It seeks long-term capital appreciation through investment primarily in a diversified portfolio of equity securities. Its portfolio includes common stocks and short-term investments, including repurchase agreements. Liberty All-Star Growth Fund has three investment managers, TCW Investment Management Company, M.A. Weatherbie & Co. and William Blair & Company.
