Description

The United States Small Business Administration is a government agency based in Washington, District of Columbia. Established in 1953, the agency was created as an independent body of the federal government to aid, counsel, assist, and protect the interests of small business concerns, to preserve free competitive enterprise, and to maintain and strengthen the overall economy of the nation. The agency helps Americans start, build, and grow businesses. The agency provides small businesses with an array of financing for small businesses from the smallest needs in micro-lending, to substantial debt and equity investment capital (venture capital).
