PE-backed Camaïeu seeks buyer

Fashion retailer Camaïeu is reportedly looking for a buyer as it begins bankruptcy proceedings. The French company, which operates 800 stores globally, is said to have €250 million in debt. The business was reputedly in the process of negotiating further financing from existing shareholders, but talks were abandoned because of the COVID-19 crisis. Camaïeu is backed by investors including Cinven, CVC Credit Partners and Farallon Capital Management.
