He is an investor, entrepreneur and philanthropist, who has created, acquired, invested in and built a series of growth companies across a diverse set of industries over the course of his 24-year career. From August 2010 to July 2015, He was the Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, Treasurer and Secretary of Capitol II which completed its business combination with Lindblad Expeditions, Inc. in July 2015. Since the closing of the business combination, He has continued to serve as the Chairman of the Board of Capitol II (now renamed Lindblad Expeditions Holdings, Inc.). From June 2007 to October 2009,he was the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Capitol I. which completed its business combination with Two Harbors Investment Corp., a Maryland real estate investment trust, in October 2009. From October 2009 to May 2015, he served as the Non-Executive Vice Chairman of Two Harboras board of directors. Venturehouseas portfolio includes or has included the seed investment in Matrics Technologies in August 2000 (sold to Symbol Technologies in September 2004), the lead investor in the buyout of Cibernet Corporation from the CTIA in March 2003 (sold to MACH S.Ã .r.l. in April 2007), the acquisition of VSGi from Net2000 Communications, and early investment in XM Satellite Radio. He has also been the President of Leland Investments Inc., a private investment firm, since 2005. He is Co-Chairman of Kastle Holding Company LLC, which through its subsidiaries conducts the business of Kastle Systems, LLC, a provider of building and office security systems that was acquired in January 2007. An entity owned by him is also the majority owner and managing member of Kastle Holding Company LLC. In 2008, he founded and is the owner of the Washington Kastles, the World Team Tennis franchise in Washington, D.C., that has won the league championship for the last five seasons and six times in its eight years in the league. Previously in his career, he worked for The Carlyle Group, Brentwood Associates, and Goldman, Sachs & Co. He is the Chairman of the Board of VSGi. Since August 2015, he has also been a member of the board of directors of AgroFresh Solutions, Inc., a Nasdaq-listed provider of innovative data-driven specialty solutions aimed at enabling growers and packers of fresh produce to preserve and enhance the freshness, quality and value of fresh produce and to maximize the percentage of products supplied to the market relative to the amount of produce grown. He is the Chairman of the Board of the District of Columbia Public Education Fund and also serves on the board of directors of the United States Tennis Association.
