Mr. Nandan Nilekani is a Co-Founder and General Partner at The Fundamentum Partnership. He is also the Founder of NRJN Family Trust. He co-founded one of India's largest technology services companies, Infosys, in 1981. He serves as Board Member at Avanti Finance. At last count, its market cap was $34 Billion. During his five-year tenure (March 2002-April 2007) as the company's CEO, revenue grew six-fold to $3 billion. He went on to work on what is today hailed as the biggest social project on the planet: Aadhaar. Nandan was the Founding Chairman of UIDAI which was a Government of India initiative to give every Indian resident a unique ID named Aadhaar and served in the Government till March 2014. Over 1 Billion people got an Aadhaar ID within 6 years of launch. As an investor now, he continues to wear this think-big cap. He thoroughly enjoys looking at how Indian entrepreneurs identify original Indian problems and then solve these with the application of technology. He has made personal investments in a clutch of differentiated startups that include ShopX, RailYatri (co-investment with Helion), angel investment platform LetsVenture, Sedemac (an innovative leader in automotive electronics), and Power2SME (a B2B marketplace). He is the Chairman and co-founder of EkStep, a non-profit philanthropic initiative to use technology to enhance learning opportunities for millions of children. He's now excited about transferring his learnings of building mega-scale ideas and lasting legacies. Helping younger entrepreneurs do this is what's driven him to set up Fundamentum. Going forward, Fundamentum will be the sole platform for him to engage with the start-up world. He will be actively involved in selecting and mentoring companies.
