Temporary staffing agency Jobandtalent has raised $500 million, marking the largest round yet for an HR tech startup in Europe, according to PitchBook data.
The round, which is the company’s third fundraise this year, puts its valuation at $2.35 billion. The Series E was led by Kinnevik and SoftBank‘s Vision Fund 2. Existing backers including Atomico, DN Capital and Infravia participated in the deal as well. The startup also secured a $75 million debt facility from BlackRock.
SoftBank previously led the company’s €100 million (about $113 million) Series D in March. Prior to that, Jobandtalent closed a €166 million Series C in January.
Other big HR tech rounds this year include HR software developer Personio‘s Series E, which closed on $270 million in October at a $6.3 billion valuation. European startups in the sector have secured over €2.4 billion in VC funding so far this year—up by 270.4% compared with 2020’s total, according to PitchBook data.
Madrid-based Jobandtalent’s main focus will be to expand in the US, where it competes with the likes of Workrise and Wonolo. The startup currently operates in nine markets across Europe, Latin America and the US, collaborating with more than 1,300 companies to find them workers. It will also use the funds to expand its sales and tech teams, as well as to hire for key executive positions.
