CMR reaches unicorn status with £195M Series C

The deal comes ahead of the launch of 'Versius', a robotic system which allows surgeons to perform a range of keyhole or minimal access procedures. CMR will use the funds to launch the product in hospitals across Europe and Asia. It will also invest in R&D and manufacturing.
With this investment, CMR has achieved the coveted status of unicorn with a reported value of more than £1 billion. This is a massive leap from its previous valuation of nearly £300 million last year when it secured $100 million for its Series B. The company has raised just under £675 million since its launch in 2014.
