Workplace communication startup Loom has raised a $30 million Series B led by Sequoia, with participation from other investors including Kleiner Perkins and Instagram co-founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger. Founded in 2016, the San Francisco-based company is a developer of software that allows users to record and instantly share videos. Loom secured an $11 million Series A led by Kleiner Perkins that valued it at $43.7 million in February.
Loom's software also allows users to record videos and save them in a library or download them for later viewing offline. The company's tech is used to create training guides, provide customer service and help design teams collaborate; it currently integrates with team communication platforms at companies such as Trello, Intercom, GitHub, Uber and LinkedIn.
Loom has received prior backing from the Slack Fund, which primarily invests in companies developing applications that integrate with Slack, such as Guru, Nylas and Clara Labs, according to a PitchBook analyst note. Loom and Slack have also developed a way to integrate their services, according to a company blog post.
